- Why isn't Don Nelson playing Anthony Randolph? He is averaging 17.8 minutes per game, but has four games where he played less than ten minutes. Randolph is easily the Warriors' second best player behind Monta Ellis. He is perfectly healthy, would be a perfect frontcourt mate for Andris Biedrins, Turiaf is hurt, what gives?
- Greg Oden is making baby steps towards being a top 10 NBA center. Good news for the Blazers who finally came to their senses and started Andre Miller.
- The Suns are runnin' and gunnin' towards one of the top seeds in the West. If they keep this up, I foresee a first or even second round exit in the playoffs.
- I am starting to lose all respect for Allen Iverson. Man, seriously get over yourself. If you were really a star, you'd be able to adapt to the situations around you and still produce/play like an All-Star (examples include Pau Gasol ballin in LA, Chauncey ballin in Denver, Manu accepting his bench role, etc., etc.). But, instead, you're the type of player that needs everyone to adapt to you, and when they don't, you get on some kind of egotrip like you're the best thing since sliced bread.
- The Cavs playing Shaq and Big Z at the same time may be unrivaled in NBA history in terms of slowest lineup. These two are likely the slowest two active players in the NBA - I challenge you to name me a slower big man.
- Z-Bo is once again defying the odds and all doubters to produce a 20 pts-10 rebs average. I suppose that means the Grizzlies will have a losing season.
- The Bulls have quietly beaten two contenders (Spurs and Cavaliers), Noah continues to improve (particularly on the offense end) and no one seems to be talking about them too much. I honestly thought they would miss Ben Gordon's offense, but so far Noah and Salmons have filled that void.
Hooptrop's Thoughts Week 2
The 2009 NBA landscape is a little less foggy, roughly 7-8 games into the 82 game season. Here's a few interesting observations from Week 2.

Easy fool. The Warriors best players have been Buike and Morrow so far. Kelenna has channeled his inner Amare and is dunking on everyone and everything.

November 10, 2009 11:40 AMKelenna has been playing rather well, I must say I'm impressed. Morrow is good, but he seems a bit one dimensional (shooting). Randolph has the potential to be a monster. He's like a super athletic version of Zach Randolph.

November 10, 2009 12:28 PMMorrow has actually become a very good rebounder, and developed a nice off the dribble game this year. His shooting will always be his calling card, and he needs to get better on D, but he is posting a nice 16+ PER.

November 11, 2009 9:39 AMWhere do you get your PER stats? Is it on ESPN or ESPN Insider?
